Iran warns OPEC members against oil production rise
Iran is “concerned that this violation may continue”

Mubasher: Iran oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh warned Saudi Arabia and the members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) against exceeding oil production ceilings which they had set before.

In June, OPEC and its allies including Russia approved slashing compliance to oil output to 100% by the beginning of July, after surpassing 150% during May.

In June, oil production of some OPEC members was “far above” the rates approved in OPEC’s agreement, Zangeneh said, adding that it was “a violation of that agreement,” without identifying these countries.

The Persian Gulf country is “concerned that this violation may continue” for the rest of the agreement “and turn into a routine practice,” Zanganeh said.

Saudi Arabia's, the OPEC kingpin nation, oil production increased by 405,400 barrels per day (bpd) to 10.42 million bpd last month.
